Whether you're planning your vacation or just have a case of wanderlust, we've rounded up a few of our favorite Italian destinations for your perusal. Along with packing essentials to make your (real or imaginary) trip even more chic.

For The City Explorer: Florence

The art capital of the world and the birthplace of the Renaissance boasts stunning architecture, al fresco trattorias and inspiring museums. Be sure to check out the market, stroll the Ponte Vecchio, view the city from Piazzale de Michelangelo and tour the Boboli Gardens in between hefty helpings of pasta and espresso.

For The Low-Key Leisure Cruiser: Lake Como

Post up overlooking the scenic Lake Como with a stack of summertime reads or tour the area by boat while wearing a large sunhat. The fresh air, stunning vistas and old-world charm can only be beaten by a Clooney sighting.

For The Beach Connoisseur: Amalfi Coast

Peruse the seaside shops in Positano, Amalfi and Ravello to pick up some custom-made sandals and hand-painted ceramics. Bask in the mediterranean sun on one of the pebbled beaches or enjoy an afternoon aboard a yacht just off the coast. Round out the experience with an Aperol Spritz at La Sireneuse.

For The Wine Snob: Tuscany

Rent a car so you can wind your way through the delightful villages and towns in Tuscany like Montepulciano and Lucca, stopping to sample the local pressed olive oils along the way. Be sure to enjoy a few guided vineyard tours and don't miss the opportunity to take a pasta-making class.
