Even more specifically, Save the Children’s Children’s Emergency Fund was launched as a way to make its efforts arrive faster, be more flexible, and reach an even wider range of children. Staff and supplies can be provided as early as within a matter of hours. The fund allows for relief materials such as blankets, tents, medicines and hygiene supplies to be pre-positioned so they’re at the ready for many different types of emergencies, from the well publicized ones to those that are more likely to be overshadowed.
In 2020 alone, 18.5 million children benefitted from Save the Children’s Global Emergency Response Program, and with additional support it can keep this up to make an impact on the many communities that need relief right now. Currently, this program is aiding crises in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Haiti, Lebanon, Syria, and more, as well as those separated from family the U.S. border, and those affected by the global pandemic.
