Our Collective Community: Skin Laundry

You may have heard the name, or perhaps this is your first time—either way, we can’t wait for you to get familiar with Skin Laundry. Today we have the pleasure of speaking with Christine Tuite, Regional RN and skincare expert to learn more about how to transition your skincare routine for the winter and also prepping your skin for the holidays.

How does Skin Laundry work?
At Skin Laundry, we specialize in cutting edge laser technology. We use our expertise to offer three types of laser facials: the Signature Laser facial, which uses an Nd:Yag to target the second layer of the skin, the Fractional Laser facial, a fraxel laser that targets the top layer of the skin, and our newest facial the Ultra Duo Laser facial, where we combine both the Nd:Yag and Fractional lasers to target all layers of the skin. All of our treatments are performed by registered nurses who take into consideration the client’s skin care goals and recommend a treatment plan within our membership model. Working with leading dermatologists in the field has allowed us to create inclusive and accessible laser facials for those on their journey to healthier, clearer, and glowing skin.

Do you have any advice for first time clients?
Don’t be nervous! Laser facials are something still relatively new and newbies can sometimes be nervous that it’s going to hurt. However, our treatments are mild, quick, and pretty painless! If you can, come in with a clean face and avoid using any harsh chemicals 24 hours prior to your appointment. I also recommend visiting our website and exploring the “First Time?” section that lists other useful tips and important information.

How often should your clients be coming in for a visit?
Our team members give our clients a detailed consultation to go over our client’s skin care goals. Based on the goals and the assessment made by the registered nurse, we will help determine the frequency and the treatment plan that will be tailored to our client’s specific needs. Frequency can range from once a month to once a week!

Can you share some tips and tricks on transitioning our skincare routine between seasons?
Keep your skin hydrated! It is very important to consider incorporating a few extra steps in your skincare routine during the winter time. Try using a cream base cleanser, like Skin Laundry’s Hydrating Cream Cleanser, which is ideal for dry skin. It cleanses and moisturizes at the same time without drying out your skin. Also try to incorporating hyaluronic acid in your beauty routine to retain your skin’s natural moisture barrier. We actually offer a hyaluronic acid serum and hydrating sheet masks filled with this rich ingredient. And of course, don’t forget to moisturize day and night!

Can you tell us more about your recently updated sheet masks?
We’ve just upgraded one of our most popular products, sheet masks! We tweaked the formulation to make our already amazing masks—clean! We are redeveloping our products with a clean approach and our masks are100% biodegradable. We also added a few key ingredients like vegan collagen peptides and sodium hyaluronate that help your skin plump,  tighten, and hydrate deeper.

What’s next for Skin Laundry?  Any new and exciting launches to share for 2021?
From our cutting-edge laser technology to making improvements to our check-in process, technology is the forefront of what we do. We will be beta testing our first-ever app and are making changes to our medical intake process as well as our check-out to make this all touchless!

In early 2021, we will be launching our first-ever physical SPF, the Mineral Defense SPF. We are super excited about it and know our clients will love it since they’ve been asking for a physical SPF for a while now! We are also in the midst of developing our own medical-grade serums to be used during our Laser facials. This will only enhance the facials but the results, too! We are constantly listening to our clients to help us improve our booking experience and treatments.
