MJ Carlson & Chantel Gia

CEO & Creative Director of Electric Picks

MJ Carlson founded her vintage-inspired jewelry brand back in 2011, and eventually invited her BFF Chantel Gia onto the team as Creative Director. What began as a dream became a fully-fledged collection of handcrafted-in-NYC pieces—all created with love and designed to inspire its wearer to make magical memories. To date, Electric Picks has earned a celebrity clientele that includes Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber, and Gabrielle Union and the brand has been featured in such well respected outlets as NY Magazine, Vogue, and Forbes.

Gabriela Navejas

Founder of Madame Gabriela

Navejas’ beauty brand was born from the founder’s own desire to find a clean, sustainable lipstick that also looked and felt beautiful on. With the help of a female chemist and her ultra-hydrating formulation (the secret? Manuka honey!), Madame Gabriela came to be. Featuring classic colors (with major payoff), sleek recycled aluminum packaging, and a simple yet high-quality ingredient list, her line of lipsticks accomplished Navejas’ goal of giving her customers something they could feel good about wearing.

A former Disney exec, she and her fellow female Rael co-founders launched their startup in 2017 and quickly made waves for their innovative offerings, including organic cotton pads, wellness supplements, and even skincare. Now Rael is a bestseller on Amazon as well as in major retailers like Target and Walmart.

With nearly two decades in the beauty industry, Gough Baril is without question a reliable expert on the subject. However, back in 2012 she felt burnt out by outdated standards and practices and vowed to forge a new path. With Iris&Romeo (in part named after a retired racehorse who inspired her journey), she wanted to create a clean, simple, and skincare-focused brand that made women of all ages and shades feel both beautiful and represented. And now her line of feel-good face, eye, and lip products is doing exactly that.

You probably don’t need an introduction to this Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actress’ work, but what you may not know is that her passion for skin protection and sun damage correction led her to launch a line of suncare products. Borrowing its moniker from her nickname, toty boasts serums, CC creams and compacts, mineral sunscreens, and more innovative solutions to improve the health of your skin and embrace every woman’s natural beauty.

Kendall Glazer & Libby Glazer

Founders of Stoney Clover Lane

Sisters and Tulane University alumnae Kendall and Libby technically began their brand back in their teenage bedrooms back in 2009, as they dreamed up the stylish products they would one eventually create. Their lifestyle line, which specializes in playful and personalizable travel accessories (think fanny packs, pouches, and packing cubes), grew steadily with the help of social media and now Stoney Clover Lane has six storefronts in cities including New Orleans, New York, and Nashville, and is sold via luxury retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales.

Sherry Jhawar, a marketing vet who put a major beauty brand on the map, and Allison Statter, a former music manager who worked with artists including Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson, first banded together in 2015 to founder Blended Strategy Group. The creative marketing agency helped drive the success of some of the most beloved celebrity-backed brands, but the two expanded their partnership when Jhawar, a breast cancer survivor, found herself frustrated with the offerings for aluminum-free deodorant and they set out to create their own. With nez, Jhawar and Statter have innovated the industry by creating clean and effective formulas that cater to different causes of sweat.

Sunny Jiang

CEO of Eyebuydirect

Joining the Eyebuydirect team only a few years after it was founded, Jiang began her 17-year long relationship with the eyewear company directly out of college in 2007. She steadily moved up the ranks from finance controller to her current role as CEO, a position she’s held for nearly 7 years. During this time, Eyebuydirect has seen a 300% growth—in no small part due to her dedication, business acumen, and leadership.
