In your own words, can you please describe the impetus of Onekind?
With Onekind, our goal is to make thoughtfully crafted, luxury-level skincare accessible to all. We both come from a decade-long background in developing luxury men’s skincare and saw that while the ingredients are essentially the same as those geared to women, men’s skincare is always more accessibly priced (hello, pink tax). We saw an opportunity for an anti-aging focused line with the highest quality ingredients that would be both gender neutral and fairly priced.
What inspired you to start your own premium skincare line?
We’ve been in the skincare space for over 10 years, and everything we’ve developed is based in community input and data. Before launching Onekind, we did extensive surveying of hundreds of skincare enthusiasts, and we realized that there was clearly a void when it came to clean, accessibly priced anti-aging that didn’t sacrifice on luxury. With the input of this focus group, we honed-in on specific products: night creams, eye treatments, serums, face oils. We also focused on the ingredients: retinol, vitamin C, rosehip oil. These were the things we felt that the population had been searching for and couldn’t find within their budget. And that’s when we made it our mission to deliver them.
We love the facial oil found in our summer curation. Can you talk about its functionalities and the inspiration behind its creation?
Golden State Nourishing Facial Oil is a blend of over 20+ natural oils and extracts, including cold-pressed carrot seed, rosehip, sea buckthorn berry, and more. It’s luxurious on the skin, absorbs quickly and provides a non-greasy glow. This specific blend is perfect for both anti-aging and fighting breakouts. Face oil is traditionally a very expensive skincare category, and we knew it could (and should) be more attainable.
Why is it so important to invest in high quality skincare products?
Your skin is your body’s largest organ, and you apply these products daily. It’s first and foremost important that your skincare ingredients be clean. With Onekind, we only include ingredients that provide real benefits. We don’t believe in gimmicks. We never include ingredients just to make marketing claims. You get better results by investing in fewer, but higher quality ingredients. The same goes for a simple, but intentional skincare routine.
