Audrey Hepburn is the embodiment of timeless style, and she provided the world with so many iconic looks over the years—which makes choosing one for a costume a challenge! Our pick for this year? Recreate her morning outfit from Breakfast at Tiffany‘s, which turned a men’s tuxedo shirt into the chicest thing ever. Start with an oversized button-down shirt and add a silk sleep mask to your perfect bedhead hairdo. Don’t forget some mascara and eyeliner that looks like it’s leftover from the night before (in the best way, of course) and add pair of tassel earrings. For extra points, bring along a stuffed orange kitty like the one Holly Golightly had!

There’s just something about French style that feels so impossibly effortless, and there was likely no one who exemplified this better than New Wave star, singer, and model Brigitte Bardot. Brigitte had a few style essentials she turned to time and time again, which makes getting her look actually pretty simple. First you’ll need voluminous blonde locks so grab a comb (and perhaps a wig?) and start teasing. To that, you’ll want to throw on a scarf. You can wear this tied under your chin or as a headband. Another must-have is a nautical striped top. Pair this with some skinny pants and ballet flats and finish off the look with Brigitte’s quintessential black winged eyeliner.

Between Kim K’s Met Gala moment and the release of Blonde, 2022 has been a major year for Marilyn. So what better time to dot on a mole, paint your lips red, and pull out all the diamonds (real or faux) to channel the iconic starlet? There so so many memorable Marilyn looks, but an easy way to get the effect is to throw on a form fitting dress or glamorous coat with a faux fur stole and add on a pair of big black sunglasses. Oh, and don’t forget the platinum curls!

Actress, singer, and dancer Dorothy Dandridge wasn’t just one of Old Hollywood’s greatest beauties, but she was an acclaimed star of the stage and screen. It’s impossible to choose a favorite of her stunning looks (and you can’t go wrong with a shoulder-baring, cinched dress and some sparkling jewelry to get her glam likeness) but one of her most memorable ensembles comes from her award-nominated role in Porgy and Bess. Her wide-brimmed black hat, sheer blouse, and pencil skirt would still be the epitome of fashion today.
